The phototactic nature of animals drives them to be attracted to light sources. In urban environments, this behavior has transformed into an unconscious response of modern humans—whether it is neon signs, streetlights, or building illumination, these light sources subtly shape human movement patterns and spatial perception. However, when lights flicker due to malfunction, this unconscious attraction is disrupted. The stable light source becomes an uncanny presence, transforming into a "counter-phototactic" signal.

In this work, these malfunctioning lights are no longer merely functional markers; they become the voice of mechanical resistance within the urban landscape. The flickering rhythms of these lights are recorded and translated into sound, creating a cross-sensory dialogue that brings awareness to the hidden non-human languages within urban spaces.

Viewers navigate through the interplay of flickering light and rhythmic audio, experiencing the "whispers" and "resistance" of the machines. These faint signals challenge humanity's "phototactic" instincts, guiding the audience to discover a silent, alternative layer of urban existence.
